Abstract

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an IgE-mediated chronic inflammation disease of nasal mucosa, which usually occurs after atopic individuals exposed to allergens. Although there are a variety of treatment methods for this disease, it is still difficult to achieve the purpose of clinical cure. With the development of immunology, specific immunotherapy (SIT) has gradually become one of the important treatments of AR due to high security and exact efficacy. This review recapitulates the background, mechanism, efficacy and safety of two kinds of popular specific immunotherapy methods in recent years.
